In this way, the EIC seeks to bring about greater ownership and control of engineering and manufacturing firms by Black engineering professionals, and support the development of Black industrialists.
VISION & MISSION
VISION
To drive business ownership by Black South African Engineers.
MISSION
To facilitate the initiation of engineering and technology based businesses with a mission to solve South Africa’s toughest challenges.
OUR HISTORY
HISTORY OF THE EIC
The Engineering Investment Collective (EIC) developed out of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Business Forum, first formed in 2017, and encapsulates the vision and strategy of the Forum’s original strategy.
The Business Forum’s goals were to:

Normalise business ownership by Black engineers professionals.

Provide members with access to the resources required to start or acquire and operate a business.

Raise funds towards establishing a sustainable business forum.

Serve as a matchmaker for those seeking to partner with Black engineering professionals who are business owners.

To drive South Africa’s re-industrialisation.
In 2018, some 50 NSBE members expressed interest in pooling their resources to build an endowment, one that would invest in engineering and manufacturing, and provide start-up capital to enterprising members. Consequently, the EIC was incorporated as an investment company (Pty Ltd) on the 2 February 2019.
